The Magic of the London Marathon

Join us as we run through the highs (and lows) of the London Marathon on a 11 mile guided running tour along the course.

Is the London Marathon on your bucket list? You've won a place in the ballot and looking for ways to spice up your 24-week training programme? Or maybe you have your eye on the race one day and have just started ramping up the miles?

Following our London Marathon veterans, Ronnie and Matt, your 11 mile guided tour will take you through the best parts of the London Marathon route, whilst you learn about the great race, including: The first ever London Marathon in 1981; Marathon heroes; Marathon villains; World records for stupid costumes; Celebrities who crumble; Women in the marathon; Mini Marathon; Baby-faced Mo Farrah as a Mini Marathon winner; Heartache Highway; The Wall; The Final 6 Miles.

Along the way you'll also get training and race-day tips from our marathon-gurus, as well as snacks to keep you going through the tour.

Starts at: Pavilion Café, Greenwich Park (what3words = sketch.behind.curiosity) 

Ends at: Buckingham Palace

Length: 11 miles (18km) approx

Time: 2-3.5 hours (approx, depends on pace of group)

Tickets include: Guided tour of the London marathon, snacks, digital photos, maratathon training and race-day tips.

Pace: This tour will be for those aiming to finish the marathon in 4.5 - 5 hours. You know that we don't like to leave anybody behind at Secret London Runs and if we could we'd hold a different tour for every pace, but we're just not big enough at the moment to be able to do that. Everybody who has signed up to the tour so far runs has a goal completion of 4.5  - 5 hours, so we'll be holding the tour at that pace.
