Orpington Road Runners Classic Christmas Lights Running Tour 2023

We're so excited to be twinkling through London's Christmas Lights with Orpington Road Runners for another year!

On a brand new route for 2023, your Christmas-loving guides will lead you through the best Christmas lights in Mayfair and the West End, with Christmas tunes pumping as you go, and plenty of pho-ho-to ops along the way. You'll jingle through the lights in small groups of 15-20 runners of a similar pace.

Pace

This is not a race. Nobody is aiming for a PB as we jingle through the Christmas lights. We run at a pace that everyone is comfortable with - and no one gets left behind. 

Where to meet

The tour starts and ends on Craven Street, next to Charing Cross station, which has the best free public toilets in London! Meet us on the pedestrian part of Craven Street, close to its intersection with the Strand. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of your tour, ready to run.

Will we stop at the lights?

Yes - we stop to admire the lights, take photos and give you a little bit of festive history too.

Duration

The tour usually takes about 1.5 hours for 5k and 2 hours for 10k, but it varies depending on the pace of the gentlest runner in the group, the number of pictures you'd like taken and how many questions you have for your guide. So if you're booking dinner/trains, allow at least an extra 30 minutes on top of this for the tour to make sure you're not rushing.

What to wear

Festive fancy dress / Christmas leggings & hats very much encouraged. Please make sure you're wearing enough for the tour which is stop-start by nature.
