Gade Valley Harriers 10k Classic Christmas Lights Running Tour

We're so excited to be twinkling through London's Christmas Lights with Gade Valley Harriers this year.

Every year the streets of London are transformed by a series of world-renowned light displays and twinkling trees. On a brand new route for this year, your Christmas-loving guide will lead you through the 2023 highlights on a beautiful 10k running tour.

What's included

Where to meet

The tour starts and ends on Craven Street, next to Charing Cross station, which has the best free public toilets in London! Meet us on the pedestrian part of Craven Street, close to its intersection with the Strand. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of your tour, ready to run.

Pace

This is not a race. Nobody is aiming for a PB as we jingle through the Christmas lights. We run at a pace that everyone is comfortable with - and no one gets left behind. That said, please make sure that you're able to gently jog 10k (with breathers), as if you need to walk large sections of the tour, so will the rest of your club.

Will we stop at the lights?

Yes - we stop to admire the lights, take photos and give you a little bit of festive history too.

Duration

The tour usually takes about 2 hours, but it varies depending on the pace of the gentlest runner in the group, the number of pictures you'd like taken and how many questions you have for your guide. So if you're booking dinner/trains, allow at least 2.5 hours for the tour to make sure you're not rushing.

What to wear

Festive fancy dress / Christmas leggings & hats very much encouraged. Please make sure you're wearing enough for the tour which is stop-start by nature.
