Sunday 1 July 2018
start between 11am and 12pm
Run 13 miles through beautiful North London to solve an abominable murder from 1873.
It's 16 days after the grand opening ceremony of Alexandra Palace and it's been burned to the ground! In the aftermath of the fire and amongst all the chaos, it's your job to get the bottom of a puzzling murder.
Along the 13 mile self-guided route, you'll find witnesses to interview, suspects to grill and clues a-plenty. Will you be the fastest team to complete the course and solve the crime?

Do I have to run?
Most of our events are suitable for runners and walkers. However, with the length of this event, we'd only recommend competing if you intend to run at least half the way. Check out the rest of our events for other walking options.
How many people per team?
You can go it alone, in pairs, or in a group of up to 6. You can sign up separately and just register together on the day at the start.
Do I have to come with a team?
Not at all. If you already have a group then please just all arrive together on the day ready for your briefing. Otherwise, please arrive at the appropriate time for your pace (see next question) and we'll join you up with other detectives.
Can I arrive any time between 11am and 12pm?
The start is staggered to ensure the course doesn't get congested. We ask you to arrive at the secret start location based on your pace:
11-11:20am: Sleuths who might walk some of the way.
11:20-11:50am: Jogging detectives
11:50am-12pm: Sprinting sherlocks
Sticking to these time brackets really helps us organise the event and make it fun for everybody.
Is there a water station?
About half-way round there'll be a water station and things to help you refuel.
Are there prizes?
Oh yes. Announced by email the following day.
What do I need to bring?
Yourself, running shoes and a charged phone with data. And your team if you have one. Oh, and don't forget your detectives hat and a small backpack/bumbag for your clues (one per team is fine). Also bring any water or fuel you might need on the way round.
What's the minimum age?
What about the secret meeting point? You'll be emailed with the secret start location in the run up to the event. It will be near to Highgate station, have a bag drop, toilets as well as drinks and food to celebrate with afterwards.
