SAVE CHRISTMAS TREASURE HUNT
Can you and your family help save Christmas?

Pssst! Children! Hello, my name is Twinkle and I’m Santa’s Chief Elf, and we need your help to save Christmas.
The naughty Christmas Imp has played a trick. He’s hidden all of the toys and everything Santa needs to deliver the presents on Christmas eve, including his sleigh and magic Reindeer dust.
Can you help me find all the magical items before midnight on December 24th and help Santa save Christmas? You have the whole of the run-up to Christmas to complete your mission and get into the festive spirit along the way!
Join in with Secret London Run’s magical Christmas Treasure Hunt.
From Tuesday 1st December to Thursday 24th December 2020 create some Christmas cheer with your children with this socially distanced treasure hunt. We’re challenging you to go outside and explore your local town and outdoor spaces and find as many of our Christmas themed items as you can in time for Santa to save Christmas.
HELP SANTA SAVE CHRISTMAS
Choose to find 50, 100 or 200 items with your virtual team of up to 10 people which can be a mix of adults and children. The best bit is your team can be based in different locations, for example your family of four might want to play with family friends, cousins, aunties, uncles or grandparents who live in different towns. The Christmas Treasure Hunt is a great way to stay connected to those you can't be with in person this festive season.
CHARITABLE DONATION
Right now vulnerable families are feeling the effects of the global pandemic the hardest. That’s why with this event we’ll be supporting The Children’s Society who fight child poverty and neglect. By taking part in this event, you and your family are helping vulnerable children to have a better chance in life.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Just before your mission starts, you will be emailed a private link to your own personal Google Sheet. This is a super easy way to complete your mission on the go, as well as share it with the other members of your team.
Simply download the free Google Sheet app. Once the link is downloaded, you'll click on the link in your email and the app will automatically open up with your private team sheet. To share with others, ask them to download the Google Sheet app and then share the link with them.
There are instructions on how to upload pictures to your treasure hunt on the Sheet, and we’ll also email you a link to a video with instructions. Once you upload a picture to the spreadsheet, the rest of your team will be able to see it too.
Only you, the people you shared the link with and Secret London Runs will have access to the link for your sheet. This means all your pictures are safe (but you and your family don’t need to be in the pics if you’d rather not be). Rest assured, it’s super easy to upload and complete your treasure hunt.
FAQs
Do we have to run?
No. This is a family event and it has been designed to inspire you to get outside and enjoy family time together. You can have a team of all walkers, a mixture of runners and walkers, or if you like you could even ride bikes. A sense of fun and good local knowledge helps.
Do all my teammates need to be in the same place?
Up to 10 per team you say?
You can have up to 10 people (adults and children) in any one team. This allows for two or more families to play together in different locations. However when out and about please follow the latest government guides on social distancing and group numbers.
Can children join in?
Absolutely! The Secret London Runs Save Christmas Treasure Hunt has been designed by parents for families with children of all ages.
How does the virtual briefing work?
How do we upload our mission?
Your team will add their photos to the Team Sheet as you go. When the clock stops, at midnight on Christmas Eve, you'll no longer be able to add photos to your sheet, and that's it - it will be automatically saved in our system.
So only the team captain needs to sign up?
Yes - it's £21 per team (Earlybird prices) and only the team captain needs to sign up. We know that things can change (especially in times as uncertain as these), so you don't need commitment from your teammates until the day of the event. As the team captain, you will be responsible for circulating information to the rest of your teammates. So do make sure you have the right contact details for each of them.
What technology/equipment do we need?
Each team member needs a phone with a camera and 4G.
When do I add our team name?
We'll ask you for this as part of the sign up process - so get thinking! You'll add this to your Team Sheet before submitting.
And I can really play anywhere?
Pretty much - yes!
Can you give some examples of things we might need to find?

MICHELLE, DESIGN MY NIGHT REVIEW
"A great event. We loved running round trying to collect the items that are always in plain sight but hard to find when you need them. It really made us more aware of our surroundings and was great fun. Would love to do it again."
MATT, DESIGN MY NIGHT REVIEW
"My husband and I did the 90 Minute Dash twice now and had so much fun both times. It‘s a great way to get out a bit and explore your neighbourhood. And you don‘t have to run at all and still find a lot of stuff."
