HOW IT WORKS

VIDEO BRIEFING
On Friday 23rd October you'll be sent a video by email telling you more about the Evil Halloween Wizard and how you can stop him. You'll also receive your team's mission and instructions on the email.
TREASURE HUNT BRIEF
Your treasure hunt brief will include a personal link to your Team's Mission online - including 50, 100 or 200 items for you to hunt. You can share it with other members of your team, wherever they are in the world.
Only you, the people you choose to share it with and Secret London Runs have access to this document so your photos, including selfies or family pictures will be safe.
BANISH THE WIZARD
Over the week, any member of your family can play at any time. All you need to do is take a picture of an item (outside, in the public domain) on the list and upload it to your Team's Mission sheet, using your mobile phone. As soon as any member of your team uploads a photo, the rest of your team will be able to see it.
GAME OVER
At 7pm on the 1st November, the magic will be over and you'll no longer be able to add photos of your treasure list items to your Team Sheet.
Now all that's left to do is wait for your magical talisman (medal) to arrive in the post.

SARAH, DESIGN MY NIGHT REVIEW
"Fun and inclusive event. Really easy to follow the instructions and upload photos. A great way to involve all the family in different locations. Can’t wait for the next one!"
MICHELLE, DESIGN MY NIGHT REVIEW
"A great event. We loved running round trying to collect the items that are always in plain sight but hard to find when you need them. It really made us more aware of our surroundings and was great fun. Would love to do it again."
MATT, DESIGN MY NIGHT REVIEW
"My husband and I did the 90 Minute Dash twice now and had so much fun both times. It‘s a great way to get out a bit and explore your neighbourhood. And you don‘t have to run at all and still find a lot of stuff."

FAQs
Do we have to run?
No. This is a family event and it has been designed to inspire you to get outside and enjoy family time together. You can have a team of all walkers, a mixture of runners and walkers, or if you like you could even ride bikes. A sense of fun and good local knowledge helps.
Do all my teammates need to be in the same place?
Up to 10 per team you say?
You can have up to 10 people (adults and children) in any one team. This allows for two or more families to play together in different locations. However when out and about please follow the latest government guides on social distancing and group numbers.
Can children join in?
Absolutely! The Secret London Runs Halloween Treasure Hunt has been designed by parents for families with children of all ages.
How does the virtual briefing work?
How do we upload our mission?
Your team will add their photos to the Team Sheet as you go. When the clock stops, at the end of the week (Sunday 1st November at 7pm) you'll no longer be able to add photos to your sheet, and that's it - it will be automatically saved in our system.
So only the team captain needs to sign up?
Yes - it's £19 per team and only the team captain needs to sign up. We know that things can change (especially in times as uncertain as these), so you don't need commitment from your teammates until the day of the event. As the team captain, you will be responsible for circulating information to the rest of your teammates. So do make sure you have the right contact details for each of them.
What technology/equipment do we need?
Each team member needs a phone with a camera and 4G.
When do I add our team name?
We'll ask you for this as part of the sign up process - so get thinking! You'll add this to your Team Sheet before submitting.
And I can really play anywhere?
Pretty much - yes!
Can you give some examples of things we might need to find?
This is a Halloween themed treasure hunt so you might be looking for items such as:
An orange door
The number 13
A spooky looking tree
