Between the 2nd and 5th September 1666, the old City of London was devastated by a blaze so monstrous it's now remembered as the Great Fire of London.
As we run through the devastation we'll explore:
How did it start? Was it really an accident?
Why did the fire rage for so long? How did Londoners dodge the flames?
What enabled the fire to finally be put out? And what suspicious theories circulated shortly after the fire?
Various set paces

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
SO MUCH FUN!
So much fun running around London dodging umbrellas and puddles!! Rain didn’t stop play and we had a blast. As well as learning quite a lot about gin in the process! Cat was a fantastic host / guide and we enjoyed our gin with her in the Punch Tavern afterwards. Now to decide which one to do next...?!
ANN-MARIE, TUNBRIDGE WELLS
Cat and I met on what became a very rainy evening, and ran 10km around the City and Southwark. The evening was fantastic: Cat knew so, so much, and clearly had a passion for guiding; the tour was very well planned and researched; and the running was great. I had a lot of fun, learnt a ton, and absolutely plan to ‘run again’ when I’m in London next. Thank you very much.
There were 9 in our 'steady' group, led by our excellent guide, Cat. The pace was adjusted to accommodate everyone.
With regular stops to learn about history of and plenty of audience participation, we really enjoyed the run; it was great to be able to run around the city, seeing things we would never have noticed in our ordinary travels. Would thoroughly recommend Secret London Runs
The Great Fire of London is brand new for 2019 - so we're still waiting on our first review. But here are some reviews of Secret London Runs, and our guide Cat who will be leading this tour.
FANTASTIC CONCEPT, VERY WELL EXECUTED
