1. How fast do I need to be?
When you book a private tour, you get a guide to yourself/yourselves and this tour is completely at your pace. We're more than happy to mix walking into the tour to help you get round it. If you would like to power walk round the whole tour, we'd still love to show you London, but please let us know in advance.
We don't want anyone to be put off joining our tours due to pace. So our public group tours are each set at a different pace, so that you can pick one in your comfort zone. For 10k, our usual groups are:
Speedy: For those who usually run 10k in under 65 minutes
Steady: For those who usually run 10k in 65-75 minutes
Walk/Run: Mixing up running and walking to get to the finish line.
We run our tours on a "no one gets left behind basis". However we do ask that you are comfortable with the pace that you've signed up for so that the rest of the runners get the experience they signed up for. If you sign up for the walk/run, you should be comfortable running 5k (if only very gently!).
2. Do you have a bag drop?
For some of our tours (e.g. the
Secret Gin Run and
Jack the Ripper) we have secured agreements with friendly pubs or hotels to look after your bags whilst we're out running. Please check the individual tour page. All bags are left at your own risk.
For those tours without bag drop, we recommend packing light and bringing a small backpack. We do, however, recommend
Luggage Heroes, a luggage storage service with locations offered across London.
3. If I can't make the run, can I have a refund?
Sorry, we don't offer refunds on group tours. If you
let us know within 14 days of the run, we'll transfer your ticket to another date/event of an equal or lesser value (one transfer per purchase). At any time (right up until the event) you can give/sell your ticket to another participant.
Please don't email us asking for transfers or refunds outside of these conditions: we are a small business and have these rules in place to protect us from operating at a loss.
If you've booked a private tour and need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellation terms are as follows:
48 hours or less notice: Full Fee
48 hours to 2 weeks notice: Half Fee
15 days or more notice: No Fee.
4. What do I need to bring with me?
Your ticket on your phone (we don't need a paper copy), water if you usually run with it. Wear warmer clothes than you usually would for a run of the length of your tour - we will be stopping around the run to unveil London's untold history (usually for a couple of minutes).
5. Are your tours suitable for children?
Great Fire of London and the
Chasing of the Guard tours are suitable for accompanied children over the age of 12 (we're giving a free children's ticket with each adult ticket for the Great Fire of London). Children must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 who is fully responsible for their safety during the run. Other seasonal tours may be appropriate but please email
firstname.lastname@example.org to double check. Of course, the alcohol tours and sex tour are not appropriate.
6. Do you have any tours in sign language?
Yes - our guide Clare, is a BSL interpreter and we often put on tours in sign language. Please email email@example.com to check the next BSL tour, or follow us on Facebook for regular updates.
7. Are dogs allowed?
Sorry - for health and safety, we cannot have dogs join our public group tours. If you would like to bring your dogs along and organise a private tour (for just yourself or for a number of you) then we'd be more than willing to work with you on this. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org begin arrangements.
